Mahindra & Mahindra secured the second spot on the Indian car sales chart for June 2025, trailing only Maruti Suzuki. The company reported total wholesales of 47,306 units, registering a healthy 18% year-on-year (YoY) growth over the 40,022 units sold in June 2024. However, on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, sales declined by 10%, down from 52,431 units sold in May 2025. With this performance, Mahindra commanded a 14.9% market share in the Indian passenger vehicle segment for June.
Leading Mahindra’s portfolio was the Scorpio / Scorpio-N, which topped the sales chart with 12,740 units sold. This reflected a 4% YoY growth from 12,307 units in June 2024. However, compared to the 14,401 units sold in May 2025, it witnessed a 12% MoM drop. Following closely was the Thar / ROXX, which continued its strong momentum with 9,542 units sold. This model saw a massive 77% YoY increase from 5,376 units sold in June last year, although it experienced an 8% dip MoM.
In third place was the Bolero, with 7,478 units sold last month. While YoY growth was marginal at 2%, the model's MoM performance declined sharply by 16%. Meanwhile, the newly launched XUV 3XO posted 7,089 units, reflecting declines both YoY and MoM. However, with the recent introduction of the XUV 3XO RevX variant, sales are expected to improve in the coming months.
The XUV700 also delivered a stable performance, recording 6,198 units, which is a 5% YoY increase from 5,928 units sold in June 2024. Like most of Mahindra’s portfolio (excluding the Marazzo), the XUV700 experienced a 4% MoM decline.
Mahindra’s electric SUV segment also showed promising signs. The XEV 9e recorded 2,808 units, while the BE 6 contributed 1,203 units. Both models have been gaining momentum domestically. Mahindra is expected to begin deliveries of Pack Two of these EVs later this month, which may further support sales growth in this segment.

In contrast, the XUV400 EV struggled in June, with just 231 units sold, marking a 57% YoY and 20% MoM decline. Interestingly, the Mahindra Marazzo, often overshadowed in the portfolio, posted exceptional growth. It was the only model to register both YoY and MoM gains, selling 17 units, up from just 12 units YoY and 4 units MoM. This translated to a 42% YoY and an impressive 325% MoM increase.
For the broader picture, Mahindra’s Q2 CY 2025 (April to June) performance showed a strong 22.39% YoY growth, with total sales reaching 1,52,067 units, up from 1,24,248 units in Q2 CY 2024. The Scorpio/N remained the top performer in the quarter with 42,675 units sold, while the Thar/ROXX more than doubled its figures, posting 77.22% YoY growth. Newly launched EVs played a vital role too, with the XEV 9e and BE 6 adding 8,064 and 2,959 units respectively to the total. The XUV 3XO and XUV700 held steady with modest growth, but legacy nameplates like the Bolero and XUV400 EV saw marginal and significant drops respectively — the latter declining by almost 46% YoY.
In summary, while Mahindra’s June 2025 sales saw a slight MoM dip, the company maintained robust YoY momentum, supported by the success of the Scorpio, Thar, and its new electric offerings. With deliveries of newer EV packs and the XUV 3XO RevX variant on the horizon, the coming months could bring stronger results for the homegrown SUV manufacturer.
